What's included

This scenic walk circumnavigates the Puig Tossals, passing one side of a dramatic valley with a great view of the unique Puig de s’Alcadena and vistas of the central plain. At the midpoint we stop at the Tossals Verds refuge. The return leg follows a more shaded path on the eastern side of the mountain.
We start this circular walk close to Cuber reservoir after a 30 minute transfer from Port Soller.
The first section of the path ascends rapidly to the highest point of the hike, the Coll de sa Coma des Ases, at 903 metres. We have a fabulous view across the reservoir and, on a clear day, towards the Bay of Alcudia. From here it is a steep and rocky descent down into the valley of Tossals (hiking poles recommended).
To our right we see the tunnels for the water pipe from Cuber reservoir, with the Puig d´Alcadena directly in front of us.
We encounter a short, steep section with wire chains to assist the ascent. After crossing a valley of olive trees we arrive at the Tossals Verds Refuge where we stop for a picnic and refreshments can be purchased.
Leaving the refuge we ascend once more on an easy, winding path through farmland and holm oak forest. We reach the Coll des Coloms at 808 metres. The Canaleta de Massanella, an aqueduct built against the cliff side over 270 years ago, is a noteworthy sight.
From here, it is a gentle walk back to the Cuber reservoir. There we return by minivan to Soller and the Port.
