Distance: 75KM Altitude Gain: 2000M OUT & BACK


The world-renowned Sa Calobra road was built in 1932 by engineer Antonio Paretti. A masterpiece of engineering: 26 hairpins snaking through 9.5km breath-takingly beautiful landscape of ancient rock forms, eventually arriving at the turquoise waters of what once was the old fishing village of Sa Calobra. There’s plenty of options to refuel on coffee and snacks (from March to October) before the return up the average 7% ascent. Be sure to pace yourself well, the last 2 kilometres are tough reaching 11.5% in areas.

Note: during the summer months we recommend leaving early as the roads can get very busy with buses and hire cars, between six and seven is a good start time.

Once at the bottom of Sa Calobra, if you don’t feel like cycling back, you can take a ferry to Port de Soller with the bike.

Explore the Torrent de Pareis gorge, just 10 minutes’ walk from Sa Calobra.
