mountain biking - altitude and distanceMountain biking - views of the Mallorca coast Our favourite mountain bike excursion, a beautifully scenic ride, with plenty of single trail, a challenging coastal route and the infamous Sa Calobra road.
This tour starts and ends in Soller, although if preferred you may take advantage of Mountain biking - peace in the mountainsour transport vehicle and save your legs by cutting out the first climb.
However, if you decide to take the challenge of riding up the Puig Mayor, a 950 metre climb, we'll take the little used route past the tiny village of Biniaraix and up a winding narrow paved road with spectacular views of Fornalutx and Soller below.
We'll then ride via the west face of the Puig Mayor to the path's summit at 1100 metres.
This is where the magical views down to Mountain biking - pause to enjoy the viewthe sea begin. The path leads us first down towards the sea, before heading back up and finally ending at the top of the road leading down to Sa Calobra and Cala Tuent, renowned for its hairpin bends and spectacular vistas.
We'll follow the road down 7 miles (11 kms) ending on the quiet shores of Cala Tuent, a perfect place for a picnic lunch and a cooling dip if needed!
We then follow the coast, along a technical path, coming out in the Balitx valley before heading back down to Soller. An unforgettable experience.
